Based in Brooklyn, NY, Hiroyo Kuramata is an experienced custom cake and sugar flower designer. Kuramata started baking as a young girl while growing up in Tokyo. From Japan,she followed her passion all the way to NYC to attend the Institute of Culinary Education. After graduating, Kuramata was hired by the prestigious Nobu restaurant, as well as the fast-paced kitchen of Financier Patisserie. This experience fueled her love for elegant pastry technique, and what better place to refine her skills than Paris!
With her dedication, natural talent, and strong resume, she began work at the famed French patisserie, Laduree. After her time in Paris, Kuramata returned to NYC, the city she feels most embraces her international experience, innovation and style. While working in several top cake shops in the city has given her diverse experience in the market, there’s nothing she enjoys more than to create her own custom cakes to please and delight her clients.
